In this room there were 4 transmitters, the 7/1, 7/2, 8/1 and 8/2. The 7/1 and 7/2 could be joined becoming one 500 Kw power. It was possible to do the same with 8/1 and 8/2 and then we got S7 and S8 (series 7 and 8). When both series were joined and matched to one antenna we obtained the 1MW (one million watts) transmitter leaving this room. The number 7 and 8 indicates its serial number. Although they were installed around the 60's, the date of manufacture was in the 30s or 40s. Over the years and with new materials, many technical improvements that increased its efficiency and performance were made. In the upper part of the 8/2 and 7/2 you can see the channeling of the RF output towards the Balun or the L unit, depending on whether it should broadcast in Combined or as an independent unit. Here you can download the schematic of the Z2, balun of 7/2 and 8/2 |
