An insignificant detail,
but difference way of thinking against how nowadays is built can be here seen.
These posts were the ones which held the RF lines towards the antennas. The
land was not flat. The easiest would have been, with a machine, to flatten all
the land and then all posts made of the same height, but nothing was
destroyed if it was possible to do it in another way, and in this case, the
posts were made according to the land: a higher land, shorter post, or how can
be seen on this photo, the base has more construction material in order to
gain height. The orders from american engineers were, then, very strict and
clear: do not destroy anything unless it were completely necessary.
